The Community Connections Mentoring Program is continuing to make a positive impact for the students of Alcorn County Schools ! The goal of the program is to better prepare our 1st-8th grade students for High School, career, and for positive life choices. The program has multiple benefits. The students grades, behavior and attendance improve through the help of our mentors. The mentors are recommended by a school counselor or teacher and undergo an interview before mentoring, then matched with a student that needs assistants with school work, emotional issues or just positive role model to encourage that child to be the best they can be, see the potential to believe in themselves. The Senior mentors have gone beyond this year to create strong healthy relationships and continues to be a rewarding, life changing experience for all !
